The fire department that is empowered to provide fire protection and first response services for the Town of Rainelle is the Rainelle Volunteer Fire Department. The Rainelle Volunteer Fire Department carries primary responsibility for the town’s 1,500 people and for an additional 3,000 citizens in surrounding areas. It also employs the services of other county VFDs to oversee the fire protection district that encompasses the Town of Rainelle.

Rainelle Volunteer Fire Department is one of only 37 in the State of West Virginia to earn the coveted ISO rating as a Class 4 fire department.

first fire truckThe Towns first official Fire Truck. It is a 1942 Dodge truck. It is still used for some parades in town. This truck was purchased at the time for the East Rainelle Fire Dept.
